Role Description
Our technicians work outdoors in all conditions, at all times of the year, day or night. You may be involved in manual work, often transporting equipment across challenging terrain. Safety, respect for rules, and teamwork are critical, especially when working near moving trains at high speed.
Team Role
You will be a team player capable of leading when required, delivering work safely, and ensuring team members have the necessary competencies. You will model safe working behaviors and proactively address potential safety risks.
Skills and Qualifications
* Leadership – Ability to lead, motivate, and direct a team safely and efficiently.
* Effective communication – Ability to give clear instructions and communicate effectively.
* Technical skills – Knowledge of inspection, faulting, maintenance, and renewal techniques relevant to the discipline.
* Safety – Role model safe behaviors, implement safe systems of work, and challenge unsafe situations.
* Problem-solving – Persistent in finding safe, effective solutions and keeping skills up to date.
* Willingness to learn – Committed to continuous development.
* Qualifications – Ideally NVQ Level 1 or 2 in relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
Additional Information
* Shift work involving days, nights, and weekends.
* Outdoor work in various weather conditions.
* Pre-employment drug, alcohol, medical, and BPSS checks.
* Valid driving license (category B) and proximity within 60 minutes of the site.

Application Process
Salary: £35,785 per annum. Closing date: 8th May 2025. Apply promptly as the role may close early. The process includes competency and technical interviews. Successful candidates will undergo drug and alcohol testing.
