Airworthiness and Quality Support - Bristol, UK - Contract. Our Aerospace client based in Filton, Bristol, UK require support to cover for maternity leave for one of their quality engineers. The role will be UK based ideally in Bristol. The support is required from Mid-January 2026 until February 2027 and is offered on a contractor basis through Strongfield Consultants. This role will be inside IR35 regulations and therefore paid PAYE. The Engineering Quality activities focus on developing, maintaining, and monitoring the compliancy of the various Engineering functions to the customer and regulatory requirements as documented in the applicable Quality Management Systems, and provides support on Airworthiness and Product Safety matters in relation to design assurance procedures. Key qualifications: Lead Auditor Qualification AS9100:2016 OR ISO9001:2015 or equivalent. Conducting all UK site and customer required Audits -Airbus Surveillance. Quality Support for the Hydrogen Systems programmes, including Audits, Quality Plan updates and general Quality Support. Technical Approvals Process support Supporting the SMS implementation at UK client sites. You will support the following key activities: Conducting all UK site and customer required Audits Airbus Surveillance Quality Support for the Hydrogen Systems programmes, including Audits, Quality Plan updates and general Quality Support Technical Approvals Process support Supporting the SMS implementation at all UK sites.General responsibilities within quality are as follows: • To support the development, implementation and maintenance of the design assurance process and procedures in compliance with all regulatory, quality, and customer requirements. • As part of the design assurance function, to update and maintain quality procedures and work instructions in compliance to design assurance requirements. • Responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining Design Engineering Quality Assurance Plans for assigned programmes. • To perform design assurance audits in accordance with surveillance plans. • As part of the design assurance function, maintain the signatory approvals process. • Responsible for adequately and timely conducting audits and associated reporting, within the scope of Design Engineering for assigned programmes • Provide support to investigations of non-compliance to design requirements and develop and coordinate corrective actions • To represent our client in 3rd party and/ or customer audits and coordinate any activity associated with these audits within Design Engineering. • To support and assist in Airworthiness and Product Safety matters in relation to design assurance procedure.
