Role Details
Permanent, Full time • Salary: £55,000-£66,000
Responsibilities
* Deliver robust commercial management across a complex facilities management and construction environment.
* Support the Commercial function to ensure contracts are effectively managed, delivering value for money while maintaining compliance with contractual, statutory and organisational requirements.
* Develop and maintain strong working relationships with client representatives, internal teams and supply chain partners; act as a trusted commercial adviser.
* Provide accurate reporting, guidance and insight across Core Services and Billable Works.
* Provide cost advice, develop cost models and support pricing activities; ensure works are delivered in line with contract requirements.
* Maintain strong commercial control; manage milestone payments, close final accounts and meet financial targets.
* Support change management processes; manage contract variations within contractual requirements and timescales.
* Manage and resolve supply chain queries relating to pricing and commercial matters; ensure consistency and fairness.
* Monitor and review supply chain performance; manage supplier payments in line with policy; contribute to risk management processes.
* Attend meetings, prepare reports and provide commercial insight to stakeholders across the business.
* Ensure governance of contract processes, procedures and fraud prevention measures; participate in risk management activities and maintain risk registers.
* Support sustainability objectives and initiatives to reduce carbon emissions and improve energy efficiency.
* Collaborate with operational teams; provide guidance on contract requirements and support work proposals; influence decision-making through negotiation.
* Support dispute avoidance and resolution alongside senior commercial leadership.
Qualifications and Experience
* Strong commercial experience within construction, property maintenance or facilities management; ability to manage costs, risks and contract processes.
* Degree in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent) with experience on projects ranging from large-scale (£1M–£20M) to multiple smaller projects.
* Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills; ability to build relationships and influence outcomes.
* Understanding of commercial processes, risk management and cost control.
* Detail-oriented, commercially astute; capable of managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
* Experience in MOD or highly regulated environments and knowledge of collaborative working frameworks (e.g., BS11000) is advantageous.
* Willingness and ability to travel to sites in North and South Wales; ability to obtain and maintain SC Clearance.
