The Audit Semi-Senior Role
This Audit Semi-Senior position is a mixed role, split approximately 80% audit and 20% accounts, reporting into Audit Managers and working closely with experienced Seniors and Partners.
You will be involved in planning and carrying out audits from start to finish, with increasing responsibility as you develop. The client base is varied and interesting, with turnovers of up to £250m, including specialist audits such as FSA, pensions, solicitors, charities, and schools .
Alongside audit work, the Audit Semi-Senior role includes accounts preparation, exposure to consolidated accounts under FRS 102, and involvement in group reporting where acting as a component auditor.
What You Will Be Doing
As an Audit Semi-Senior, your responsibilities will include:
* Planning and carrying out audit fieldwork with appropriate supervision
* Working on a wide range of clients, including specialist audit assignments
* Preparing draft statutory accounts and consolidated accounts under FRS 102
* Assisting with draft corporation tax computations
* Drafting management letter points following audit completion
* Supporting and assisting junior team members on audit assignments
* Working to deadlines and budgets, with support from Managers where needed

What They Are Looking For
This role will suit an Audit Semi-Senior who has:
* At least 2.5 years' experience in practice with consistent audit exposure
* ACA or ACCA part-qualified, or at an advanced level and eligible to sit
* Strong communication skills and confidence dealing with clients
* The ability to work well within deadlines and manage competing priorities
* A positive, collaborative approach and willingness to learn
Experience within a medium or large firm environment would be particularly beneficial.
