Role Overview:
Morgan Philips Specialist Recruitment is representing a leading professional services firm in their search for an Assistant General Counsel to join their In-House Legal Team. The candidate should be an experienced commercial lawyer specializing in technology, data privacy, data protection, and AI. The role involves delivering practical, business-focused legal advice to global business and corporate services partners.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide legal support on various legal and regulatory matters for a global professional services organization.
* Advise on technology, data privacy, data protection, AI, and related issues.
* Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations across jurisdictions and network policies.
* Support Technology and Risk Management teams with legal expertise.
* Develop and implement governance and operational policies, procedures, and playbooks.
* Review and advise on new services, solutions, and related legal issues.
* Manage external legal counsel in multiple jurisdictions efficiently and cost-effectively.
* Balance practical advice with risk management and compliance obligations.
* Present on legal topics and write articles.
* Mentor junior team members.
Candidate Profile:
* UK-qualified lawyer (or equivalent) with significant experience at a major law firm or relevant in-house experience.
* Strong legal skills with experience handling complex legal and regulatory issues.
* Strategic risk management skills with the ability to identify issues and suggest mitigations.
* Proficient in negotiating, drafting, and reviewing agreements across jurisdictions.
* Capable of working independently and managing complex cases while collaborating with teams.
* Ability to balance legal risk with business needs in a fast-growing global environment.
* Self-motivated, organized, and excellent communicator.
