This post is for a Specialty Doctor in Dermatology. This is a full-time post offering an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated medic to join a dynamic, rapidly expanding team delivering multidisciplinary acute care in Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals.
Applicants must be eligible for full Registration with the GMC at time of appointment.
Main duties of the job
* 8.5 DCC
* 1.5 SPA
* Each week there is participation in the Dermatology Grand Round, Audit, Journal Club, Histopathology meetings, attended by all consultants/dermatology colleagues in the region.
* There is no on-call commitment.
* Each week, except 1st week of the month when a departmental meeting is held, one session will be based at Broadgreen Hospital. This session includes participation in the Dermatology Grand Round, Audit, Journal Club, and Histopathology meetings, attended by all consultants/dermatology colleagues in the region.

Qualifications
* Applicants must hold full registration with the GMC at the time of application
* Hold a higher diploma or MD, MRCP or Masters
* Have some training in teaching methods
Knowledge and Experience
* Have at least 4 years’ full-time postgraduate training (or equivalent on a part-time/flexible basis) with at least 2 years in a specialty training programme or as a Fixed Term Specialty Trainee in the relevant specialty, or equivalent experience and competencies.
* Experience in Dermatology (including Minor Operations)
Skills
* Ability to communicate effectively in English (written & verbal)
* Appropriate knowledge base and ability to apply sound clinical judgment
Other
* Demonstrate understanding of the importance of audit and research
* Full current driving licence and access to a car, or equivalent transport
