Patient Advisor – Rock Healthcare
Job Summary
Rock Healthcare is looking for an enthusiastic, team‑driven individual to join our practice as a Patient Advisor. The role is front‑of‑house at the primary reception desk, welcoming visitors and managing patient enquiries daily. Outstanding patient service, both over the phone and in person, is essential, as is minimising complaints to maintain high satisfaction levels.
Main Duties
* Check in and register patients
* Order medications and process prescriptions
* Schedule appointments and coordinate home visits
* Reception and administrative duties
* Navigate clinical software systems
Staff members also attend monthly practice meetings, taking minutes and preparing agendas as needed.

Rock Healthcare is a forward‑thinking GP practice serving around 9,500 patients. Located at Moorgate Primary Care Centre, Bury, we provide a range of primary care services and are a teaching practice for medical, nursing and healthcare assistant, as well as GP trainees.

Salary: £12.60 per hour + NHS pension
Contract: Permanent
Working pattern: Full‑time or part‑time (08:00‑18:30, Monday‑Friday)

Qualifications & Experience
Essential
* Excellent telephone and communication skills
* Problem‑solving and de‑escalating complaints
* Team player capable of working independently
* Experience in an office environment
* Minimum 1 year working in a GP practice
* GCSE English & Mathematics or equivalent
* Experience handling high call volumes and varied enquiries
* Microsoft Word and Excel proficiency
Desirable
* Minute‑taking experience
* Familiarity with EMIS and Docman
* Previous experience in a healthcare setting
Disclosure and Barring Service Check
This role requires a Disclosure and Barring Service check under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975.
