The AWSI Professional Services APJ (Korea) team provides project-based security consulting to help enterprise customers achieve secure and faster cloud outcomes. Our security consultants lead engagements that promote cloud technology to solve customer business problems and support long-term expansion.
The AWSI Professional Services Korea team seeks a Senior Security, Risk, Compliance Consultant who can lead customer engagements including building security strategies and roadmaps, architecture design and implementation support, technical assessments, incident response, and security control implementation support. You will collaborate with AWS sales, engineering, training & certifications, and support teams as well as partners to provide technical assistance to ensure customers achieve security business outcomes on AWS. This includes leading pre-sales on-site visits, understanding customer security and compliance requirements, and proposing and delivering security solutions in customer engagements. Global engagements may be short on-site or remote projects leading to architecture or compliance roadmaps, security guidelines, security gap assessments, security architecture and design reviews, and implementation of security controls and services.
The role requires strong consulting, technology management, or service operations experience in cyber security across areas such as identity and access management, infrastructure security, data security, application security, or incident detection and response. Candidates should be hands-on (e.g., software development, system administration, network engineering, or systems architecture) with experience leading delivery teams, a solid technical understanding of Cloud and IT systems, and familiarity with cloud benefits, zero-trust architectures, secure software development practices, and advanced technologies.
This role emphasizes effective verbal and written communication, attention to detail, and the ability to distill complex, ambiguous requirements into clear communications. The right candidate is data-driven, comfortable in a fast-paced environment, adaptable, and able to influence multiple internal and external teams as a trusted advisor. The position involves frequent engagement with both customer technical and business stakeholders and may require travel to client locations to deliver professional services as needed.
Key responsibilities
* Collaborate with customers and partners on key engagements while helping partners develop technical expertise and capacity.
* Demonstrate a strong combination of cloud security experience, hands-on technical capabilities, technical leadership, and rapid learning in a fast-paced environment.
* Focus on customer solutions spanning cloud infrastructure security, modern microservices and application security, enterprise IT security posture, continuous cloud compliance, and alignment with industry standards and regulatory frameworks.
* Lead pre-sales activities, on-site visits, and delivery of security solutions tailored to customer security and compliance requirements.
* Support security strategy and roadmaps, architecture design, and implementation of security controls and services across engagements.

Qualifications
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* Communication skills to lead information sharing and discussions as an AWS representative at the customer site.
* Consulting ability to understand business needs and identify and resolve complex technical issues based on knowledge and experience related to security.
* Experience in cyber security design and implementation in one or more areas (application security, identity and access management/data protection/infrastructure security such as networks/logging and monitoring, incident detection and response).
* Business level Korean reading, writing, and conversation skills with customers, partners, and colleagues including other departments.
* Conversational English skills to communicate with internal teams (global customer-facing role). Willingness to travel to client locations to deliver professional services when needed.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Bachelor’s degree.
* Experience in performing security assessments and security architecture reviews of network, operating systems, and application security on-premises and in the cloud.
* Up-to-date with software engineering best practices (source code reviews, version control, build processes, testing, release and change management, automation).
* Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISA, CISM, or CCSP; hands-on implementation experience in Next Generation Firewalls, Web Application Firewalls, IDS/IPS, Incident Response, SIEM, IAM controls.
* Implementation experience with compliance frameworks such as NIST, PCI-DSS, ISO/IEC 27001, ISO/IEC 27017, FISC, etc.
