The Role – Psychology Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant
In this role, you will:
* Support pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social-emotional challenges
* Apply your understanding of psychological principles to help create inclusive learning strategies
* Work alongside class teachers to adapt lessons and activities to individual learning profiles
* Support emotional regulation, behaviour management, and the development of key life and social skills
* Monitor progress and contribute to the planning of targeted interventions, in close collaboration with the SENCo and wider pastoral team
Who We're Looking For
We’re keen to hear from graduates who:
* Hold (or are predicted) a 2:1 or above in Psychology or a closely related subject
* Have prior experience working with children or young people with additional needs—whether through school, youth work, care, or volunteering
* Possess strong interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, and a calm, empathetic approach
* Are enthusiastic about applying psychological knowledge in a practical educational setting
* Are considering future careers in educational psychology, teaching, child therapy, or mental health services
