What you will do:
Manage a caseload of Child in Need and Child Protection cases, ensuring timely assessments, planning, and intervention in line with statutory requirements.
Undertake Section 47 enquiries and lead safeguarding activity, including strategy discussions, core groups, and child protection conferences.
Develop and review child protection and child in need plans, ensuring interventions are outcome-focused and reduce risk.
Undertake direct work with children and families to assess risk, build relationships, and support sustainable change.
Prepare high-quality reports for case conferences, legal planning meetings, and court proceedings where required.
Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners including Police, Health, and Education to ensure coordinated safeguarding responses.
Person Specification:
Qualifications: Degree in Social Work (BA/MA or equivalent), completion of ASYE or equivalent post‑qualifying experience in statutory children’s services.
Registration & Compliance: Registered with Social Work England. Strong working knowledge of the Children Act 1989/2004 and safeguarding procedures. Understanding of Public Law Outline (PLO) and court processes is desirable.
