Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a range of welcoming and forward-thinking secondary schools across Merton. This is a full-time, five-days-per-week role, ideal for an HLTA who is passionate about making a real difference in young people's education.

The Role:
1. Supporting teaching and learning across a range of secondary subjects
2. Delivering pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher
3. Working with small groups or individuals to support academic progress
4. Supporting students with a range of needs, including SEN
5. Promoting positive behaviour and engagement in the classroom
The Ideal Candidate:
6. Holds HLTA status or equivalent experience
7. Has experience working in a secondary school setting
8. Is confident leading classes and supporting learning independently
9. Demonstrates strong communication and behaviour management skills
10. Is adaptable, proactive, and committed to inclusive education
