About the Role
We are seeking an organised, detail‑focused and stakeholder‑oriented Assessments and Awards Team Leader to join our newly formed team within Academic Registry. The Team Leader will play a vital part in ensuring the effective delivery of assessments and awards processes, supporting the team, students and academic colleagues throughout the academic year.
Responsibilities
* Report to the Assessments and Awards Manager and lead the delivery of the work of the Assessments and Awards Team.
* Manage the organisation of the Assessment Boards, assessment processes including exams and awards ceremonies.
* Represent the team at relevant working groups within Academic Services and with BU partner institutions, professional statutory and regulatory bodies.
* Line‑manage individuals within the Assessments and Awards Team.
Qualifications
* Sound understanding of higher education academic policies, procedures and processes.
* Evidence of team leadership and development experience.
* Strong administration and communication skills, attention to detail and confidence working with systems and deadlines.
Eligibility and Funding
THIS POSITION IS OPEN TO BOURNEMOUTH UNIVERSITY STAFF AND AGENCY STAFF CURRENTLY WORKING AT BOURNEMOUTH UNIVERSITY ONLY. This position does not meet the eligibility requirements for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker Route within the UK Visa and Immigration service’s Points Based System. Therefore BU will not be able to sponsor individuals who require permission to work to carry out this position.

The Assessments and Awards Team is part of the Academic Registry Department within Academic Services.
