Job Overview
We are looking for a Senior Booking Coordinator to join our established team managing elective surgery admissions. The role supports efficient patient appointment booking within national guidelines and the Trust’s Patient Access Policy.
Main Duties
Provide a comprehensive service to ensure all elective patients are admitted efficiently for surgery. Effectively make comprehensive decisions with regards to waiting list management and communicate these decisions to all relevant parties: Consultant Staff, Managers, Theatres and Nursing Staff, maximising the use of Trust resources.
Qualifications – Essential
* Knowledge and experience in elective surgery booking or similar role
* Strong interpersonal and negotiating skills
* Calm, empathetic nature, able to work independently
* Experience negotiating with clinicians and patients to ensure target times
Qualifications – Desirable
* Experience working within a hospital Trust
* Knowledge of NHS patient access policies
Application
This is a full‑time post @ 37.5 hours – hours 9‑5. Part‑time hours may also be considered. The postholder will access vulnerable people and is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act. Disclosure to DBS is required. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK unless an alternative right to work solution can be provided.
