Job Description
Your new company: Your new job role will be working for a public sector organisation based in Liverpool, dedicated to research and teaching in tropical medicine.
Your new role: Facilities Management
1. Ensuring the facility is well maintained and a high standard of service delivery is received from the in-house maintenance team and specialist external contractors.
2. Organising reactive maintenance and repair of HVAC, autoclaves, and other specialist systems.
3. Maintaining and repairing en-suite bathrooms, sinks, and plumbed facilities.
4. Carrying out planned preventive maintenance, inspections, and testing of all facilities, plant, equipment, and systems within HCF.
5. Coordinating with suppliers, contractors, and staff, managing quotations, and obtaining approvals from the Estates Manager/HCF Head of Operations.
6. Supporting administrative tasks such as updating spreadsheets, maintaining space management information on the CAFM system, and analyzing helpdesk requests.
Security and Fire:
1. Overseeing operation and maintenance of the controlled door access system, auditing access cards, and maintaining the database.
2. Updating access levels in line with policy.
3. Providing training and oversight for security contractors and fire marshalls.
4. Supporting the Fire Officer with duties like fire risk assessments, audits, and training.
5. Participating in emergency response teams and out-of-hours call-outs.
Security Protocols and Systems:
1. Managing security systems including intruder alarms, CCTV, and door access systems.
2. Working with BMS, AutoCAD, and CAFM systems.
Cleaning, Decontamination, and Infection Prevention:
1. Monitoring cleaning quality through audits and liaising with the housekeeping team.
2. Organising specialist cleaning services, including laboratory and clinical cleaning, decontamination, and fumigation.
3. Ensuring the safe use of hydrogen peroxide vapour generators and testing decontamination processes.
Inspection and Quality Control:
1. Supporting estate audits and inspections to identify issues and implement mitigation measures.
2. Conducting quality checks on work by in-house teams and contractors, and generating reports.
General Responsibilities:
1. Promoting equality and inclusive practice.
2. Performing other duties as appropriate, including acting as an 'On Call' Engineer and supervising maintenance teams during absences.
3. Participating in staff development and training.
Requirements:
* Good numeracy and literacy skills.
* NEBOSH Certificate (General or Fire).
* Fire Warden training, First Aid Certificate, Customer care training.
* SIA Licence, CCTV, Fire risk assessor, Mechanical HNC.
