At BG Housing and Support, we provide safe and stable supported accommodation to individuals who need a helping hand to regain independence. Our service users may face challenges such as low-level mental health needs, difficulties managing a tenancy, budgeting, or accessing support services. We offer practical, person-centred support to help them live independently and move forward with confidence.
Overview
We are looking for a reliable and empathetic Supported Housing Worker to join our team. This is a hybrid-working role, as you will visit properties in your area to check in with service users, carry out support sessions, and ensure the accommodation is safe and well-maintained.
Duties
* Provide regular support to residents with basic needs such as managing bills, budgeting, appointments, and general wellbeing
* Carry out support visits to properties and check in remotely when appropriate
* Develop and review simple support plans and risk assessments tailored to each resident's goals
* Support residents in maintaining their tenancy and adhering to house rules
* Promote independent living skills like cooking, cleaning, and managing correspondence
* Help residents access local services including healthcare, education, and employment support
* Record all contact and progress accurately using digital systems
* Ensure properties are safe, clean, and well-maintained; report any maintenance issues promptly
* Follow safeguarding procedures and escalate any concerns appropriately
* Build positive working relationships with external agencies when needed
What We're Looking For
Essential:
* Experience working with adults in a housing, care, or support setting
* Understanding of low-level support needs (e.g. mental health, tenancy issues, budgeting)
* Confident working remotely and managing your own time and caseload
* Strong communication and record-keeping skills
* IT-literate and comfortable using digital case notes and forms
* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (travel expenses covered)
Desirable:
* A relevant qualification (e.g. Health & Social Care, Housing, Support Work)
* Knowledge of housing support, safeguarding, and benefit systems
* Experience working with local authorities or housing providers
