Performs general preventive maintenance, repair, testing, installation, and troubleshooting of plumbing and mechanical systems, water, medical gas supply, and other distribution systems throughout the facility.
Responds to general maintenance duties and operates hospital/building equipment and systems, including building engineer/technician operational duties as assigned.
Responsibilities include:
1. Repairs, installs, replaces, tests, and troubleshoots water and medical gas supply and distribution systems, including valves, fixtures, and outlets.
2. Installs new water and medical gas supply systems with proper certification, piping, and fixtures in accordance with blueprints, drawings, specifications, and applicable codes.
3. Maintains waste and vent lines in good operating condition using appropriate tools.
4. Assists other department staff or contractors on projects or equipment installations requiring plumbing expertise.
5. Completes plumbing safety inspections and preventive maintenance on backflow devices with proper certifications.
6. Acts as a resource and provides training to staff for light plumbing maintenance and repairs.
7. Performs general maintenance and building systems operational duties as assigned or directed.
8. Responds promptly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed.
9. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum requirements:
* Plumbing City & Guilds/NVQ Level 2/3 certification.
* Maintenance experience.
* Time management skills.
