Rockingham Forest Primary Care Network is continuing to develop and strengthen its PCN pharmacy team and is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Pharmacy Technician to join us.
This is an exciting opportunity to work across GP practices within the PCN and play a key role in improving medicines optimisation and patient safety in primary care.
Pharmacy Technicians are highly valued members of our multidisciplinary team, supporting pharmacists, GPs, and practice staff to ensure the safe, effective, and efficient use of medicines.

Main duties of the job
The role will primarily support the PCN Clinical Pharmacists with medicines reconciliation and medication reviews, ensuring accurate and up-to-date medication records for patients registered with member practices. Initially, the focus will be on medicines reconciliation following hospital discharge, outpatient clinic letters, and other care transitions, with the role developing further over time.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Completing medicines reconciliation from discharge summaries and clinical correspondence
* Supporting medication reviews by ensuring records are accurate, complete, and appropriately coded
* Managing and resolving medication-related queries in line with agreed protocols
* Supporting repeat prescribing processes and medicines safety systems
* Ensuring appropriate monitoring is in place for prescribed medicines
* Maintaining effective systems and procedures to support safe, efficient medicines management
* Working closely with pharmacists, GPs, practice teams, and external providers to optimise patient care
Qualifications
* BTEC/NVQ level 3 or equivalent in pharmaceutical sciences
* Professional Registration with the GPhC
* Evidence of continued professional development
* Experience of working as a Pharmacy Technician in community pharmacy
* Experience of working as a Pharmacy Technician in Primary Care
* Completion of CPPE Pharmacy Technician pathway
* Experience of clinical systems (SystmOne/Emis/Vision)
