We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Governance & Assurance Apprentice to join our Governance & Assurance Team. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your career in governance, compliance, and assurance while working towards a recognised qualification.
About the Role
As a Governance & Assurance Apprentice, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of our governance framework and assurance activities. Working alongside the Governance & Assurance Lead, you will help ensure that our organisation maintains strong governance practices, transparency, and accountability.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is proactive, well-organised, and eager to learn about corporate governance and risk management in a dynamic not-for-profit environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide administrative support to the Governance & Assurance Team.
* Coordinate Board and Committee meetings, including preparing and distributing meeting papers.
* Support the delivery of the internal audit programme, risk management framework, and key performance indicator (KPI) reporting.
* Collate and manage data to support insurance claims and data protection requests, ensuring accurate and timely responses.
* Assist with the review and updating of policies and procedures in collaboration with policy owners.
* Maintain the Compliance Dashboard to support reporting to the Senior Leadership Group.
* Provide professional and confidential administrative support to the Chief Executive and wider leadership team.
About You
We are looking for an individual who is:
* Highly organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities.
* An excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing.
* Confident using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
* A team player with a positive attitude and a strong attention to detail.
* Committed to personal development and continuous learning.
Qualifications:
* Minimum of GCSEs (A–C / 4–9) in English and Maths.
* A-Levels or equivalent qualifications desirable but not essential.
This role includes a formal apprenticeship qualification, tailored to your interests and the needs of the role. Potential qualification areas include Business Administration, Governance, Risk Management, Data Protection, or Internal Audit.
