About Us
Rock Steady Security is one of Scotland's leading providers of event security and crowd management services. With a strong reputation built over decades, we deliver professional and reliable staffing solutions for some of the country's most high-profile venues and events.
Our portfolio includes iconic locations such as Glasgow Barrowlands, Rangers Hospitality, Usher Hall, Edinburgh Castle Concerts, and the world-renowned Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, along with many other theatres, music venues, and cultural events across Scotland.
We are proud of our established market position, but we are also modernising – investing in updated systems, training, and processes to make our operations more efficient and our services even stronger.
The Role
We are looking for a highly motivated and organised Operations Manager to join our team in Glasgow. This is a senior role, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day delivery of our event security operations and supporting the growth and development of the company.
The successful candidate will manage both our office-based admin team (scheduling and admin staff) and our casual event workforce (Safety Stewards and SIA Licensed staff). You will play a key role in streamlining processes, enhancing productivity, and ensuring our teams deliver excellent service at every event.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, manage, and support the scheduling and admin team to deliver efficient workforce planning.
* Oversee the deployment and performance of front-line event staff across multiple venues and events.
* Review and modernise operational processes, including scheduling, timesheets, training, and workforce management systems.
* Drive staff recruitment, induction, and training initiatives, including Level 2 Spectator Safety and Level 3 Supervisor courses.
* Ensure compliance with industry standards, licensing requirements, and client expectations.
* Act as the main point of contact for clients, venues, and event organisers on operational matters.
* Produce professional debrief reports and contribute to continuous improvement following events.
* Support the Head of Security and senior leadership in delivering business growth and innovation.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
* Holds a Level 5 qualification in Crowd Safety Management.
* Holds a Level 4 qualification in Spectator Safety Management (or is willing to work towards it).
* Holds a valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence (minimum). Close Protection and CCTV licences are desirable.
* Has proven experience in operations management, preferably within the events, security, or hospitality sector.
* Can lead teams effectively, both in an office and on-site environment.
* Is highly organised, with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
* Has a strong understanding of event staffing, workforce scheduling, and compliance.
* Is confident using (or keen to develop) digital workforce management tools.
* Can work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, to meet the demands of live events.
What We Offer
* A leadership role at one of Scotland's most recognised event security providers.
* The opportunity to work on some of the country's most prestigious events and venues, including Glasgow Barrowlands, Rangers Hospitality, Usher Hall, Edinburgh Castle Concerts, and the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo.
* A supportive and experienced management team.
* Competitive salary (dependent on experience).
* Scope to make a real impact in modernising and shaping the future of the company.
