Job Title: Demand Lead Salary: To £48,000 depending on experience Location: Walsall/ Cambridge Travel: Required across both regions South Staffs Water is seeking a visionary Demand Lead to spearhead our commitment to reducing water consumption across both household and non-household sectors. Building on the success of our award-winning campaigns, this role will drive the delivery of our five-year strategy aligned with our Water Resource Management Plans (WRMPs), ensuring sustainable and resilient demand forecasting and reduction. The Role As a water efficiency expert, you’ll represent the company in industry forums, champion best practices, and foster strategic relationships to meet regulatory targets and deliver long-term value. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement a comprehensive demand reduction strategy to 2030, aligned with WRMPs and our Business Plan. Lead benefit measurement and reporting for all initiatives, ensuring transparency with regulators such as Ofwat and the Environment Agency. Continuously review programmes to ensure optimal value and adaptive strategy execution. Collaborate with the Universal Metering team to align metering rollout with demand reduction goals. Identify and integrate industry best practices, innovations, and collaborative opportunities. Build and maintain strong relationships with non-household retailers, consultants, and regional stakeholders. Manage delivery mechanisms, including consultant and supplier contracts. Represent South Staffs Water at industry workshops and forums. Uphold Health & Safety standards and maintain relevant training. Strong project management capabilities, including budget oversight. Familiarity with WRMPs and regulatory commitments. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Self-motivated with the ability to manage workload independently. Full UK driving license required due to regional travel. Minimum 5 years’ experience in a relevant role.
