Job Title Content Adviser - 6 Months Fixed Term Contract Office Location London, Birmingham or Remote Department Corporate Communications Our Content team plays a pivotal role within the wider Corporate Communications function, delivering high-quality, insight-led content across the firm's digital channels. Working Hours 35 hours per week, 9:30am to 5:30pm but additional hours may be required. We are happy to consider agile and flexible working patterns. Our approach to hybrid working allows for up to 40% of time working from home and 60% working in the office, please contact a member of the recruitment team to discuss further. This role can be considered fully remote if outside of a commutable distance of Birmingham or London. Role Overview This role works closely with the Content Manager and Head of Content to create and deliver impactful, platform-optimised content and digital marketing support. The successful candidate will bring a strong understanding of social media platforms, tools, and algorithms, with hands-on experience using creative and scheduling tools such as Canva and Hootsuite. They will be confident analysing social media performance, spotting emerging trends, and adapting content to maximise reach and engagement. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organisational capability, and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential, alongside a genuine curiosity for how digital marketing and social platforms continue to evolve. Key Responsibilities Specific duties or responsibilities may be reviewed from time to time to reflect changes in personnel and management structure, staff location or services. All members of the firm participate in our Responsible Business program. Core responsibilities and tasks:
• Work closely with the global Marketing and Business Development (M&BD) and Corporate Communications teams and our lawyers to source and develop content for social media platforms including LinkedIn, X (Twitter), and Instagram, ensuring content is tailored to each platform's audience, formats, and algorithms.
• Draft, schedule, and optimise social media posts, applying platform best practices to maximise reach, engagement, and performance.
• Use video creation and design tools such as Storykit and Canva to produce short-form videos, animations, and visual assets for social media and digital channels.
• Monitor social media performance and trends, using analytics and platform insights to inform content decisions and continuously improve output, including LinkedIn ads.
• Act as a champion for social media best practices, trends, and platform updates, sharing knowledge and guidance through both informal and formal training sessions.
• Maintain and update key social media and content best practice guidance documents for use across the wider M&BD and Corporate Communications teams.
• Use digital risk protection software to help monitor any appearances of unsanctioned or fraudulent Hogan Lovells branded social media accounts.
• Support the creation of short video clips, sound bites, and images for use on social media, working with outside vendors.
• Upload video and podcast content to the firm's YouTube channel.
• Upload firm-branded podcast episodes and image assets to our hosting platform Podbean.
• Support with creation of global / firmwide video content / podcasts, where needed.
• Update sections of the website owned by the Content team.
• Update sections of the intranet (HLGlobal) co-owned by the Content and Digital teams.
• Work closely with the brand team to create brand-compliant templates and tailored assets for the firm's core social media channels. Training
• Train colleagues in the wider M&BD / Corp Comms team on how to use the employee advocacy social media tool Clearview Social.
• Work with the vendor to resolve any Clearview Social issues.
• Provide ad hoc training on using LinkedIn. Administrative and Operational Support
• Supporting the Head of Content on reporting and administrative tasks as required.
• Provide administrative support to the Content team, including processing and tracking team expenses in line with firm policies.
• Manage invoicing related to LinkedIn advertising, social media tools, content vendors, and creative suppliers, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
• Support reporting, documentation, and other administrative tasks for the Head of Content and Content Manager as required. Skills & Experience
• 3+ years of social media and digital marketing experience required.
• 3+ years of communications experience preferred.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; applicants will be asked to submit writing samples and take a writing test.
• Experience and passion for AP Style and clean, concise copy.
• Experience with creating video and podcasts a plus. We're looking for a corporate storyteller.
• Experience with Hootsuite and Canva preferred and experience with Clearview Social or another employee advocacy tool a plus.
• Experience with InDesign desired.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) required.
• Strong organisational skills and a keen attention to detail.
• Effective interpersonal and team working skills.
• Shows initiative; a self-starter.
• Ability to communicate effectively with lawyers, professional-level staff, and peers.
• An ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
