Breast Imaging Department Assistant

The post holder will:
* Act as a chaperone for imaging tests
* Provide assistance to the operator during biopsies by preparing trolleys using ANTT, assisting during the procedure as required
* Provide support for the patient undergoing procedures
* Apply pressure following biopsies and post biopsy wound care
* Ensure that the environment is clean and tidy
* Carry out post procedural data input to Trust systems
* Support the service with maintenance of stock
* Ability to drive between sites is beneficial as start and end times do not coincide with the inter‑hospital bus
* Assist radiographers, nurses and medical staff by carrying out non‑radiographic clinical and non‑clinical tasks in the Imaging Directorate
* Reception / clerical duties including data entry
Main duties of the job
The post holder is required to provide a supportive role to the imaging team ensuring the delivery of an efficient and effective service; working as part of a multi‑disciplinary team to give the best quality of service by assisting radiographers, nurses and medical staff by carrying out non‑radiographic clinical and non‑clinical tasks in the Imaging Directorate. A caring, co‑operative and flexible approach to working practices is required whilst maintaining a professional attitude for the dignity and well‑being of the patient. Reception / clerical duties including data entry are essential elements of the role.

Person Specification
Education
* English and Maths GCSE pass or equivalent
Experience
* Experience of working in a healthcare setting - 2 for patient facing care role 1 for admin role
* Evidence of good literacy - does the application form demonstrate good literacy skills, punctuation, grammar, logical sense
* Ability to follow a system of work - evidence of working in a team, multiple tasks within role/pathway, work within clinic setting
* Evidence of computer use and patient management systems
* Willingness to progress and learn - 1 for additional courses above stat and mand, 1 for additional duties, 1 for any other evidence of proactive behaviours
