SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Burniston
Salary: £88 – £110 per day
Contract: Full-Time
Start Date: January 2026
GSL Education are recruiting a compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs in a school near Burniston. This role is ideal for someone passionate about inclusive education and pupil wellbeing.
Responsibilities
* Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEND
* Assist with personalised learning plans
* Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour
* Encourage independence and engagement in learning
* Work closely with teachers and pastoral staff
Requirements
* Experience supporting children or young people with SEND
* Understanding of autism, SEMH or learning difficulties
* Calm, patient and resilient approach
* Strong communication skills
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
