Perfect Household Staff is delighted to present an outstanding opportunity for an experienced and meticulous housekeeper to join a welcoming and respectful family of four in Cambridge. The home is primarily occupied by three family members and their affectionate Labradoodle. The principals are seeking a professional who is organised, independent, and reliable, with a hands-on attitude and excellent attention to detail. They value long-term commitment and are offering formal employment with standard holiday entitlement.
Cambridge is one of England’s most historic and picturesque cities, celebrated for its world-class university, charming riverside views, and elegant architecture. The residence is situated in an easily accessible area with excellent public transport links, making commuting straightforward for live-out candidates. A driving licence is required for occasional errands and local driving.
The property comprises two neighbouring houses — the main five-bedroom residence with a pool and garden, and a smaller house used mainly as an office and guest accommodation, which requires significantly less cleaning. The family also employs a part-time cleaner once or twice a week, which lightens the workload considerably. The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, though on rare occasions the family may request support on a Saturday or Sunday, with any additional hours fully compensated. The workload is steady and well-structured, and as the family travel frequently, the housekeeper will have ample time to complete deep cleaning and detailed organisation during quieter periods.
We are seeking a professional with a proactive approach, who can work efficiently without supervision and maintain consistently high standards. The position involves general housekeeping, deep cleaning, laundry, and wardrobe management. The housekeeper should be confident handling delicate garments and fine materials, including handwashing where required. Liaising with external contractors such as the gardener and pool maintenance team will also form part of the role.
