Are you looking to advance your career? Elevation Recruitment Group are excited to be working with a leading transport organisation. This organisation is seeking a skilled Senior Category Manager to support the indirect category, including Fleet, Facilities Management, Professional Services and other business support functions.
As a Senior Category Manager, you will develop, assess and manage commercial strategies for spend as well as providing professional insights/advice on procurement matters to key strategic stakeholders to ensure that budgets are spent in accordance with Financial Regulations, and strategy.
You will have the opportunity to lead commercially on a wide variety of projects in a variety of policy areas. This will include leading and heavily working on certain initiatives and ad hoc commercial projects when needed.
What it will involve?
* Develop and manage procurement category strategies for a portfolio of categories to achieve the given objectives.
* Provide professional advice on technical procurement to key stakeholders across the business.
* Develop and deliver procurement savings plans for specific categories in collaboration with the customers.
* Lead and manage complex and strategic procurement projects to ensure their effective delivery in line with customer requirements.
* Use your own initiative and commercial acumen to address complex, high value and risk contract spend.
* Regularly review and manage contracts for key business contracts managed outside of the central procurement organisation.
* Develop and lead strategic partnerships with key suppliers to share risks and benefit
* Responsible for delivering specific category management elements of the organisations procurement vision and Business Plan.
* Directly manage the performance and development of direct reports.
What they are looking for:
* Strong Procurement and Commercial experience.
* Proven category spend management and delivery.
* Excellent communicational skills.
* Proven success in cost saving with Indirect spend.
* Demonstrable experience in managing procurement processes and contracts, including developing and implementing procurement strategies, evaluating bids and negotiating contracts.
* Public or Private Sector Procurement, Contracts or Commercial experience, Central Head office operations such as FMCG. Any related sector experience is considered.
Desirable:
* Relevant degree in Business Administration, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
* Relevant professional procurement qualification, such as MCIPS or equivalent.
* Knowledge of public procurement regulations, policies and procedures.
