Offer description

Hours:

* Full time, 37.5 hours per week (Monday – Friday)
* Job share applications will be considered. Please indicate in your application if you wish to apply on this basis. For part-time hours, salary will be pro rata.
* Please note that flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends is required.

*A current full, valid driving license and access to own vehicle is essential for this role*

At East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH), we support children and young people with life‑threatening conditions, and their families, to receive care where and when they need it.

We are strengthening how we work with communities to ensure more families can access support earlier, feel connected, and receive care in a way that reflects their individual needs.

We are looking for a Community Connector to help build meaningful relationships across our communities, improve access to our services, and support inclusive, community‑based approaches to care.

About the role

This is an opportunity to play a key role in developing connections between EACH and the communities we serve.

You will:

* Build relationships with local communities, organisations and partners to increase awareness of EACH services
* Work alongside under‑represented communities to support more equitable access to care
* Support outreach activity, events and community‑based initiatives across the region
* Work with families and partners to co‑produce inclusive engagement opportunities
* Provide information, advice and signposting to families and professionals
* Contribute to developing approaches that enable care beyond hospice settings

You will also work closely with colleagues across care, volunteering and fundraising teams to ensure a joined‑up and coordinated approach.

About you

We welcome applications from people with a range of experiences, including those working in health, social care, community or voluntary settings.

You will bring:

* Experience of working with families, communities or partner organisations
* Experience supporting community‑based activities, outreach or engagement
* The ability to communicate clearly with different audiences
* The ability to build and maintain positive working relationships
* An awareness of equality, diversity and inclusion in community settings

You will also be able to work independently, manage your workload, and adapt your approach to suit different communities and situations.

We recognise that people may meet these criteria through a variety of experiences, including paid work, volunteering or community involvement.

We would particularly like to hear from individuals who have connections within local communities in the Peterborough area.

Our approach to community and care

This role is part of our work to:

* Improve access to hospice care for all communities
* Build strong local partnerships
* Support earlier connection to services
* Enable care that reflects the needs of children, young people and families

We value the insight and experiences of the communities we serve and are committed to ensuring these shape how our services develop.

Closing date: 28 June 2026

Interview date: 16 July 2026, Milton hospice
