My client is a market leader in the manufacture, installation, and servicing of automated food processing and packaging machinery. Due to continued growth, they are expanding their engineering team and are looking to recruit a Service Engineer on a permanent basis.
This is an exciting opportunity for an electrically or mechanically biased engineer who enjoys hands-on work and problem-solving. Excellent earning potential and benefits with structured training in place.
Core Hours: Monday to Friday Days 40 Hours
The Role
As a Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of automated machinery at customer sites across the UK. You will play a key role in ensuring equipment performance, customer satisfaction, and rapid response to breakdowns.
Key Responsibilities
* Attending emergency breakdowns and restoring failed systems under pressure
* Planned maintenance and coordination with customers
* Installation, commissioning, and servicing of machinery and equipment
* Fault finding and diagnostic checks
* Providing telephone helpdesk support and technical advice
* Completing detailed written service reports
Essential Requirements
* Electrical or mechanical background supported by formal qualifications
* Experience working in a food processing, manufacturing, or similar industrial environment
* Proven ability to install, maintain, and commission machinery
* Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
* Full UK driving licence
You will have current or recent experience as a field service engineer, service technician, maintenance engineer, electrical fitter, electro-mechanical fitter, system builder or electrical technician.

* 8 statutory bank plus 26 days (increasing by 1 day for every 5 years service, up to 5 extra days)
* Initial expected earning including usual site travel and overtime is A GBP 42 : 45K, basic (A GBP 32 : 34K)
