Teaching Personnel are seeking dedicated, patient and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to work across a range of Secondary schools and Alternative provisions throughout Carmarthenshire. These roles involve supporting pupils with a variety of needs including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, Speech & Language difficulties, complex learning needs and physical disabilities. The Role: As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will: Provide one‑to‑one or small‑group support to pupils with additional learning needs. Assist with personalised learning plans and differentiated activities. Help pupils regulate emotions and behaviour using positive behaviour‑support strategies. Work closely with SENCOs, teachers and external professionals. Support with communication, sensory needs and emotional development. Encourage independence, confidence and engagement in learning. Maintain accurate records and contribute to reviews and progress monitoring. We Are Looking For: Experience working with SEN pupils (school, care, youth work, childcare, support work, etc.). A calm, resilient and nurturing approach. Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships. Flexibility and the willingness to adapt to changing needs. Ability to use your initiative and work as part of a supportive team. A DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply). Team Teach or behaviour‑support training is desirable but not essential.
