Supply Hive is currently recruiting for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist education setting in the Slough area. This is a full-time role supporting children and young people with a range of additional needs across primary and secondary ages. The position is available for an immediate or near-future start, depending on suitability. This is a highly rewarding opportunity to work within a supportive SEN environment where every day is different. You will be working closely with pupils with autism, learning difficulties and complex needs, helping them to access learning in a way that is tailored to their individual needs. The role will focus on supporting learning, promoting independence, and helping pupils develop key communication, social and emotional regulation skills. Responsibilities Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with a range of additional needs Support the class teacher in delivering personalised learning activities linked to EHCP targets Assist pupils with communication, sensory needs and emotional regulation throughout the school day Implement behaviour and support strategies consistently Encourage independence, confidence and life skills development Support pupils during transitions, break times and off-site activities where required Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and wider school staff Contribute to pupil progress monitoring through observations and feedback Maintain a strong focus on safeguarding and pupil wellbeing at all times Requirements Experience working with children or young people with SEND (school or care background considered) Calm, patient and resilient approach Strong communication and relationship-building skills Ability to follow structured support plans and adapt to individual needs A proactive and team-focused attitude Understanding of autism, learning difficulties or SEMH needs is highly desirable Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply Commitment to safeguarding and supporting vulnerable learners This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about SEN who wants to make a real difference in a supportive and specialist environment.
