Finance Assistant - Full Time (12-Month Maternity Cover) Location: Twickenham Start Date: July 2025 Contract: Full-time, Fixed-Term (12 Months - Maternity Cover) Salary: Competitive, based on experience and qualifications About the Role We are seeking a knowledgeable and reliable Finance Assistant to join our school's administrative team on a 12-month maternity cover contract. This is a full-time position starting July 2025, based in a welcoming and inclusive school in Twickenham. The successful candidate will support the School Business Manager in ensuring the smooth running of the school's financial operations, maintaining accurate records and complying with education finance regulations. Key Responsibilities Processing purchase orders, invoices, and payments in line with school procedures Reconciling bank statements and maintaining the school's financial systems Assisting with budget monitoring and monthly reporting Supporting payroll preparation and liaising with external payroll providers Managing petty cash and school income (e.g. trips, donations, and lettings) Ensuring financial procedures comply with internal policies and audit requirements Person Specification Essential: Previous experience working in a finance role, ideally within a school or education setting A recognised finance qualification (e.g. AAT Level 3 or above) Good working knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Excel High level of accuracy and attention to detail Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive data Strong communication and organisational skills Desirable: Experience using school finance systems (e.g. SIMS FMS, PS Financials, Arbor, or similar) Understanding of school financial compliance and audit requirements How to Apply Please send your CV and a short cover letter detailing your relevant experience to the school office.
