The role is based at Barnstaple depot as part of a team, however at times you may need to assist field-based teams out on site. The environment requires you to be able to react quickly, decisively, and responsibly.You will help manage depot facilities and coordinate maintenance and repair works with our supplier to ensure the smooth operation of the depot.This role is suitable for someone who enjoys the demands of a physical environment.The Ideal CandidateYou must be able to demonstrate the ability to work on your own initiative, in a safety critical environment. External candidates are required to have grade AG/1-9 GCSE in English and Maths or equivalent qualification deemed to be at the same level in these subjects.You'll need to be mobile throughout the area, therefore a valid driving license is required.Ideally you will have completed accredited Fork Lift truck training and hold a certificate of completion for this. In addition, some electrical experience would be an advantage.Operationally we require you to live within approximately 45 minutes of the depot you are applying for. Training will be given where necessary, to support the successful candidate in gaining the skills and experience to carry out the role in full.National Grid Electricity Distribution is committed to safeguarding the interests of the Company, colleagues and customers.
