You'll play a key role in keeping our finances running smoothly, working closely with our operations manager and external accountant to manage invoicing, credit control, and financial accuracy. There's also scope for this role to develop into a full-time position for the right person. We're looking for someone who can bring flexibility and initiative, with potential to take on broader responsibilities in recruitment, admin support, and PA duties.

£26,000 - £30,000 DOE (Pro Rata)

Your Skills / Background: Finance Admin, Credit Control, Accounting Software, Financial Controls, Financial Reporting, Xero.

We provide ecology consultancy services to a wide range of clients across the UK with the majority of our projects across the Home Counties, South and Midlands. The candidate will work closely alongside our operations manager and external accountant in an important finance function, streamlining our invoicing and credit control process and must have a good attention to detail. The Finance Assistant/ Administrator Opportunity:
This is a fantastic opportunity to work at the heart of our finance function, collaborating closely with our Operations Manager and external accountant to streamline invoicing and credit control processes.
We're looking for someone with sharp attention to detail and a passion for getting things right. The ideal candidate will be energised by the chance to join a fast-growing company, with real potential to grow alongside us and play a hands-on role in shaping our future.
We love to bring out the best in people and the scope of this position is flexible and will give the right candidate an opportunity to excel in their administrative role or could lead to roles in finance, marketing or even ecology if that is of personal interest to the candidate.
You must live within commuting distance to Chalgrove, Oxfordshire or be willing to relocate. However, many of our staff mix working from home and the office on a flexible basis.
Key Responsibilities:
• Credit control of aged receivables (key part of role)
• Invoicing clients through Xero software
• Liaison with external accountant on automated payment of account payables
• Aiding external accountant with processing of expenses
• Occasional administrative and logistic support for the team
About you:
Essential:
• Exceptionally organised with a sharp eye for detail
• Skilled at multitasking and managing multiple priorities under pressure
• Strong team player with excellent communication and collaboration abilities
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and quick to learn new systems
• Friendly, adaptable, and fast learner with a focus on delivering high-quality, timely results
Desirable:
• AAT training is advantageous, but experience in a Finance team will be more important.
• Experience of using Xero accounts program or willingness to learn.
