Responsibilities
Service Delivery & Quality
1. Own the day-to-day delivery of the Invoice Validation service across gas, electricity, and water accounts
2. Ensure invoices are validated accurately against contracts, tariffs, meter data, and consumption patterns
3. Maintain high standards of quality, consistency, and documentation across all validation activity
Revenue Recovery
4. Identify billing errors, overcharges, and discrepancies that create recoverable value for clients
5. Build clear, evidence-based cases for submission to suppliers and water companies
6. Manage and track the recovery pipeline, ensuring timely progression and measurable outcomes
Client Delivery & Communication
7. Act as a subject-matter expert for invoice validation, supporting internal teams and client queries
8. Contribute to client reporting, ensuring results and recoveries are clearly explained and contextualised
9. Support client meetings and reviews with data-driven insights and platform demonstrations where required
Process Ownership & Continuous Improvement
10. Take ownership of invoice validation processes, ensuring they are efficient, scalable, and fit for purpose
11. Identify and implement improvements to workflows and service delivery
12. Align processes with broader operational and client service strategies
Subject-Matter Expertise
13. Develop and maintain strong knowledge of energy and water billing structures, industry practices, and common error types
14. Stay informed on market and regulatory changes impacting billing and validation
15. Act as an escalation point for complex validation issues, providing solutions and expert guidance
Collaboration & Support
16. Work closely with analysts and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless service delivery
17. Provide coaching, guidance, and knowledge sharing across the team
18. Support onboarding and continuous improvement through training and best-practice documentation
Governance & Risk
19. Ensure all validation activity meets client requirements, compliance standards, and internal controls
20. Identify and escalate risks, recurring issues, or systemic supplier errors
21. Maintain clear audit trails and documentation to support compliance and audit readiness

22. Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail
23. Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with data
24. Ability to manage workloads, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
25. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex issues clearly
26. Highly organised, self-motivated, and accountable for delivering results
27. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
Desirable Experience
28. Experience in invoice validation, billing analysis, or revenue recovery
29. Knowledge of the energy and/or water sectors
30. Experience using invoice validation or billing software
