Overview
Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust invites applications for a Locum Consultant Nephrologist with subspecialty interest in Renal Transplant Medicine. The post is a fixed term of 12 months and part of a dynamic team comprising thirteen Renal Consultants, one ITU/Renal Medicine Consultant, and five Transplant Surgeons.
The successful applicant will support the outpatient renal transplant service and undertake outpatient nephrology clinics and the full range of inpatient nephrology and acute transplantation services. The post comprises 10 Programmed Activities (PAs), with potential for additional PAs by mutual agreement.
About the Department
Nottingham University Hospitals Trust is a large university teaching hospital serving a local population of about 675,000, with a Renal Transplantation catchment of 1.79 million. The unit performs around 80 adult renal transplants per year and supports approximately 750 prevalent transplant patients and over 450 dialysis patients across multiple sites. There are established programmes for peritoneal and home haemodialysis, with several satellite dialysis units, and active live donor transplantation.
Responsibilities
* Support and develop outpatient renal transplant services.
* Undertake outpatient nephrology clinics and manage the full range of inpatient nephrology and acute transplantation services.
* Work within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver high-quality renal care.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Locum Consultant Nephrologist with subspecialty interest in Renal Transplant Medicine.
* Post will require agreement on 10 PAs with possible additional PAs.
