As a Paint Line Technician, you will operate as part of the paint production team, responsible for loading/unloading parts on the powder coating line, monitoring workflow, and ensuring quality standards are met.
This role supports the production of Building Construction Product (BCP) machines according to specified work orders in a fast-paced environment with strict safety compliance.
You may work across any of the two value streams and four areas, covering planned and unplanned absences.
What you will do:
Follow documented standard work procedures to perform the following safely:
* Load raw material onto the line using cranes, slings, hand/power tools, and lifting equipment.
* Prep material with sanders and masking to ensure fabrications are ready for powder coating.
* Learn and assist with powder coating and wet spray applications.
* De-mask fabrications and small parts for unloading.
* Unload painted material using cranes, slings, and lifting equipment, ensuring correct placement using P-base.
* Deliver defect-free painted parts and components by following quality standards.
* Work on several areas to support planned and unplanned absences
* Train/coach Paint Technician's/Apprentices to standard work instructions.
* Follow and utilise Caterpillar Production System principles of continuous improvement reporting, waste elimination and standard work
* Participate in product / process improvement dialogues as required
* Cover the Team Leader's role in their absence
* Keep the work area clean, tidy and safe in line with 5S and total preventative maintenance (TPM) Adhere to the company's Health and Safety policy and safe working practices
* Adhere to Caterpillar's Values in Action: Integrity, Commitment, Excellence, Teamwork, Sustainability
* Undertake training and further learning as required

Required qualifications:
* Previous experience within a paint plant
* Understanding of Glovia and transactional discipline
* Have a fully flexible approach to the job role & responsibilities (willing to work overtime)
* Gain working knowledge of the area and build experience of the workstations within which you will be working
* The ability to use hand/power tools and lifting equipment
* The ability to read, comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions/procedures
* Attention to detail, able to work with own initiative and self-motivated
* You will possess effective communication skills to liaise with various levels of the organisation
* Willing to undertake required training/learning
* Must be willing to work a multi-shift pattern

Salary: £28,969 rising to £30,450 when role triggers are met, plus additional shift allowance
Contract: Permanent
Shifts: 1x Afternoons & 1x Nights
