Job Description:
OLG Recruitment is recruiting for an Engineering Services Manager to work for a client based in the Humber Region. This is a full-time, permanent role.
We are ideally looking for someone with an E&I background, preferably with experience in hazardous areas. Travel to Aberdeen within the first 6 months may be required.
Role Description:
The Engineering Services Manager in England will be responsible for establishing and leading a new engineering services team based in Hull. This role requires a technically experienced electrical engineer with expertise in hazardous (ATEX rated) zones and onshore worksite delivery. The manager will oversee strategic and operational activities, including business development, project delivery, and team building. Collaboration with the existing team in Aberdeen is essential to deliver workscopes and establish the Hull team. Strong leadership, project management, and collaboration skills are required.
Role Responsibilities:
* Develop a sustainable portfolio of opportunities.
* Manage P&L to ensure profitability in line with company strategy and budgets.
* Prepare and deliver annual budgets.
* Project manage the controlled delivery of work scopes via existing resources before establishing a dedicated team.
* Identify needs and build a team with appropriate competencies and behaviors.
* Ensure technical authorities are involved in scopes of work.
* Hold the team accountable for work scopes.
* Understand contractual and commercial requirements, managing risks accordingly.
* Manage engineering deliverables, design, installation, and commissioning activities.
* Supervise site staff, agency, and subcontractors for effective delivery.
Project Planning:
* Communicate regularly with client and planning/logistics departments.
* Attend planning meetings.
Project Management & Cost Controls:
* Prepare budgets and analyze costs.
* Plan and report on progress and finances.
* Identify cost-saving opportunities.
* Maintain communication with internal and external teams.
* Monitor key performance indicators.
* Gather lessons learned for continuous improvement.
Core Training & Competencies:
* Minimum degree in Electrical Engineering.
* Experience in Engineering Project Management.
* Experience with projects, modifications, inspections, and maintenance programs; awareness of COMPEX training.
* Experience in client relationship building.
