Capability Lead - Waste Water Modelling UK wide
Jacobs is recruiting for a Capability Lead – Waste Water Modelling UK wide. In this newly created role you will drive the quality and delivery of complex wastewater modelling solutions and lead a team of 75+ wastewater modellers across the UK, Ireland and Global Delivery Centres.
Your impact
As the Capability Lead (Head of Discipline) for Wastewater Modelling within the Water Resource Group, you will leverage your leadership skills to ensure the growth and capability of your teams, fostering a culture of opportunity and growth, and embracing new technical capabilities to meet and exceed client and market expectations.
Remit of your role will include
* Partner with the Water Capability Director and the Water Chief Engineer to deliver project delivery excellence.
* Establish a rigorous technical assurance governance environment.
* Collaborate with Regional Discipline Leads to provide key technical guidance on Jacobs frameworks, and identify, develop and deliver both existing and new workstreams and services.
* Lead the development of a clear vision and strategic direction for wastewater modelling.
* Drive innovation by identifying and implementing advanced techniques, tools and practices to enhance efficiency and sustainability.
* Develop working methods, routines and innovative approaches to improve processes in the delivery of wastewater network projects.
* Act as the technical verifier on all complex wastewater modelling projects.
* Manage systems to store, share, and apply modelling guidelines and practices effectively.
* Maintain a strategic overview of capability footprint and recruitment to ensure key skills meet current and future client and market demands.
* Develop clear career development routes and succession plans for the capability, including engagement with Global Design Centres.
* Be a visible advocate for Jacobs culture, leading a capability mindset focused on safety, accelerators and initiatives (including I&D and Agile Careers).
Here’s what you’ll need
* Chartered accreditation (ICE or CIWEM).
* Expertise in InfoWorks ICM, Info Asset Manager and ArcGIS.
* Experience as a Wastewater Modelling practitioner with a proven track record of leading large teams.
* Strong track record in leading complex technical projects with a focus on quality, efficiency and innovative problem-solving.
* Demonstrable ability to drive vision, purpose and engagement across multi-office teams.
* Inclusive and diverse with a global mindset.
* Excellent relationship and stakeholder management, strategic influencing, conflict management and engagement skills that build trust.
* Engaging interpersonal and communication skills and active listening.
