Role Title:

Business Development Manager / Sales Manager


Location:

Claremont Ingredients, Newcastle Under Lyme, ST5 6SS


Job Description:

This role involves working within the commercial team across multiple manufacturing sites within the THG Nutrition & Wellness division. Recently acquired sites are undergoing positive changes, and we are now expanding our sales team to develop existing and new customer channels. The role includes P&L responsibility for a portfolio of ingredients and finished goods supplied to leading B2B customers.


The Role:

1. Manage a portfolio of accounts, ensuring profitability, customer satisfaction, and growth targets are achieved.
2. Build and maintain relationships at various levels within customer organizations to meet commercial objectives.
3. Evaluate customer product mixes to improve profitability, incorporating initiatives like NPD, complexity reduction, and cost optimization.
4. Develop and manage customer contracts aligned with business priorities.
5. Coordinate with internal departments (Operations, Finance, Technical, Product Development) to optimize results.
6. Ensure forecast accuracy and collaborate on demand planning to exceed budget targets.
7. Create detailed account plans to surpass sales budgets.
8. Provide regular sales outlooks and proactive plans to address gaps.


Requirements:

1. Experience with Flavors and Ingredients.
2. Previous account management or sales experience.
3. Strong financial controls and commercial awareness.
4. Proven success in delivering profitable new business.
5. Ability to multitask and perform in a fast-paced environment.
6. Entrepreneurial mindset and creativity.
7. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
8. Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
9. Analytical, organized, and interpersonal skills.
10. Outstanding relationship-building skills.
11. Enthusiastic attitude with leadership qualities.
