Job Title: Design Technology Teacher
Location: Chapeltown, S35
Salary: £155 - £220 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time
GSL Education are excited to recruit a creative and driven Design Technology Teacher to join a lively school in Chapeltown from September 2025. In this role, you will inspire students to build practical skills and foster innovative thinking through engaging, hands-on projects and creative challenges. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate educator to nurture students’ practical abilities and creativity through active learning.
Responsibilities as a Design Technology Teacher:
* Guide students through stimulating Design Technology lessons at different Key Stages, exploring areas such as Resistant Materials, Product Design, and Graphics.
* Cultivate innovative thinking and support the development of practical problem-solving and technical expertise.
* Align all teaching activities with curriculum objectives while adapting to individual learning needs.
* Create and maintain an engaging, safe space for learning both in the classroom and workshop settings.
* Regularly evaluate student performance and provide clear, constructive feedback to support their growth.
Requirements for Design Technology Teacher:
* UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is mandatory.
* Previous experience teaching Design Technology in a school environment is essential.
* Sound understanding of Health & Safety regulations relevant to practical teaching settings.
* Demonstrated excellence in communication, classroom management, and organisational abilities.
* Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
* A comprehensive CV covering the last 10 years, with any gaps explained.
