Description Main Responsibilities/Main Tasks Product Manufacture To supervise the department in line with the business objectives and key performance indicators. Supervise daily process and departmental activities in relation to; Cross shift communication. Staff, understand work to and achieve both team and departmental key performance indicators. Operational supervision of the team including day-to-day planning, monitoring and reviewing performance and taking necessary actions. Day to day liaison by ensuring; Communication of production problems and implications to the relevant Section Leader and or Production Manager. Co-ordination of staff to suit the process requirements. Communicating results to the relevant production tiers. Developing a high understanding of both internal and external customer needs. Developing empowered teams to own problems and actively seek solutions. Compliance Ensure the manufacturing areas are kept tidy at all times by adopting a policy of good house keeping. Communication to the Maintenance department and or Section Leader of any persistent machine faults, to allow planned and preventative maintenance to be co-ordinated in line with the needs of production. Performance Leadership Develop the training of all process operators by identifying individual/departmental-training needs during personal reviews. Defining clear team/individual objectives during personal reviews. Take responsibility to ensure that all operators in the production process apply best practice method. Ensuring that a single and standard method is applied in all sections across all shifts in line with the written procedures. Highlighting/discussing performance/ behavioural issues to/with the relevant Section Leader. Health & Safety Ensure employee compliance with the company “Rules and Regulations” through the adoption of Health, Safety, Emergency Response and Environment best practice. Personal Development Pro-active development of own business knowledge including supervisory and specialist knowledge and skills. Undertaking any necessary self-development actions and identifying development needs of both individuals and his/her team. Any other reasonable request deemed part of Team Leader role. Qualifications - Education/Experience levels/Skills and Expertise … Minimum of 3 GCSE’s and or has shown a level of structured self-development that relates to the role requirements. Supervisory Experience in co-ordinating teams of up to 20 people. High level understanding of production control measures. Relevant process knowledge. Excellent people skills. Relevant personal development activities; ILM, NVQ, supervisory training. Good IT skills. Good understanding of ISO requirements. Specific Skills/Qualities Required The ability to relate and achieve best performance through people. To have an understanding of what key measure delivery the business requires. A person who actively strives to develop themselves and others. A mechanical aptitude would be beneficial (not essential)
