Job Summary
Duty Manager - (SPAR) Patchway (18+)
Salary: £13.25 p/h plus opportunity to earn a bonus and excellent benefits
Hours: 25 hours p/w
Reporting to: Store Manager
The Duty Manager will support store operations, lead and motivate a team, ensure compliance, and help achieve store sales and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Store Manager to ensure a safe, legal and high performing store and take overall responsibility during Duty Manager shifts.
* Assist in delivering all store operations, objectives and KPI’s.
* Manage, coach and support colleagues, fostering a motivated and empowered team.
* Carry out performance management, absence management and occasional opening/closing of the store.
* Ensure colleague safety, stock/cash security and accountability during shifts.
* Conduct cash reconciliations, voids and refunds for till colleagues.
* Role model outstanding customer service and lead the team to exceed competitors.
* Collaborate with the community to promote the store.
* Adhere to all company policies, procedures and processes.
Duty Manager Skills Required
* Previous management or supervisor experience within food retail or similar fast‑paced operation.
* Committed to achieving and sustaining exceptional customer service standards.
* Excellent planning, organising and prioritising skills.
* Strong communication and influencing at all levels.
* Decisive with appropriate action.
* Promotes collaborative working.
* Enthusiastic, flexible with a positive attitude.
* Committed to developing own skills and applying learning to improve performance.
