Overview
We are looking for a specialty doctor to join the Ophthalmology team in Ysbyty Gwynedd, North Wales.
The department has individuals from a wide range of backgrounds and fosters a family feel, where all are welcome.
Despite being a smallish District General Hospital, we have a busy and varied workload that peaks during the holiday seasons due to the influx of visitors to our beautiful National Park.
It is important that the successful candidate is a great team-player and confident in their ophthalmology skills, as they will be a key member of the overnight on-call team.
Main duties of the job
* Examine and treat patients in the Ophthalmology Department and assist regularly in the Eye Casualty.
* Carry out ophthalmic clinical duties as assigned.
* Undertake procedures, lasers, and relevant clinical investigations as required.
* Work a 1 in 4 on call rota evenings and weekends (presently on call is 5pm to 10pm weekdays and 9am to 10pm weekends).
* Take part in formal medical audits.
The working week will comprise 10 programmed activities; any changes to the working arrangements will be addressed by discussion and agreement.
