Mechanical Maintenance Manager – Hard Services Provider – SE London - up to 60K
One of our long-standing clients is currently looking to recruit a Mechanical Maintenance Manager to work as part of their busy estates team to service and maintain a key contract based in South East London.
They seek an experienced Maintenance Manager who can provide first-class customer service, organize, manage, and motivate their engineering team, and support senior management. The role reports directly to the Estates Director, with whom you will work closely daily.
The working hours are Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. Main duties include:
* Control of all mechanical services and management of associated engineering contracts.
* Manage all statutory compliance requirements.
* Oversee building services, infrastructure, maintenance, and repairs.
* Support project management for building refurbishment projects.
* Ensure all plant, backup, and monitoring systems are maintained in good order, including regular testing in compliance with legislation.
* Support troubleshooting engineering issues.
* Support infrastructure adjustments, liaising with user groups, preparing documentation, appointing contractors, and supervising sites.
* Manage outsourced contracts.
* Ensure contractors adhere to procedures and legislation.
* Regularly check cost-effectiveness and value for money for services.
* Chair update meetings with contract managers.
* Manage mechanical incidents and outages.
* Lead initiatives to identify and deliver additional work and technical solutions.
* Provide technical guidance to maintain high standards and swift defect rectification.
* Coordinate resources for technical and innovative solutions.
* Lead efforts toward sustainability and energy efficiency through operational improvements and new technologies.
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
* Recognized apprenticeship and full mechanical qualification (e.g., C&G, HNC/HND).
* Proven experience in a hard services maintenance role.
* Experience managing contractors.
* Experience working within estate environments, hospitals, or healthcare facilities.
* A strong team player capable of prioritizing and solving problems under pressure with innovative solutions.
* Committed to working professionally and maintaining quality standards.
* Strong people management skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
