An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Solicitor to join a Tier 1 ranked Agriculture and Landed Estates team at a leading, multi‑office law firm. This is a rare opportunity to work alongside market‑leading lawyers advising on high‑quality agricultural, rural, and landed estate matters.
No prior agricultural experience is required. Candidates with a strong commercial property or development background and a genuine interest in agriculture and rural land are strongly encouraged to apply.
About the role
You will join the Agriculture and Landed Estates team, working closely with senior fee earners while managing your own caseload from an early stage. This role offers meaningful client contact, early responsibility, and clear opportunities for long‑term career development.
The team advises agricultural and rural clients on a broad range of non‑contentious matters, including farm and rural land acquisitions and disposals, agricultural tenancies, partnership and estate management matters, secured lending, and succession‑related work. You will work closely with the private client team on succession planning and estate administration, the strategic land team on development matters, and the renewable energy team on rural and energy projects.
Key responsibilities
* Title review and reporting
* Sales and purchases of land
* Transfers of whole and part
* Overage arrangements
* Agricultural tenancies for landlords and tenants
* Deeds of easement
* Land registration
* Sales by auctionSecured lending work
* Managing client and solicitor enquiries
* Maintaining accurate client matter schedules
* Supporting and participating in business development activity
* Undertaking ongoing professional development
About you
* Qualified solicitor with relevant post‑qualification property experience, not necessarily agricultural
* Background in commercial property or development welcomed
* Strong technical drafting and analytical skills
* Excellent communication and client-handling ability
* Proactive, organised, and commercially aware
* Genuine interest in agriculture and rural land

* Salary of £65,000 – £85,000+, dependent on experience
