Overview
Director - Tax Data Analytics role at KPMG UK. Based in London. Part of the Tax Technology & Innovation (TT&I) directorate, working within the Tax & Law capability. The successful candidate will apply data and analytics skills across data transformation, analytics, and automation projects for KPMG’s Tax & Legal practice, collaborating with UK and offshore teams in an agile environment.
You will lead the delivery of data-driven solutions using a mix of KPMG software, third-party tools, and custom technology, and you will participate in business development activities to build the sales pipeline and collaborate with colleagues across Tax & Law.
Responsibilities
* Lead a team of analysts and engineers building and deploying innovative, scalable data solutions for clients.
* Oversee the delivery of complex data transformation, analytics, and automation projects, ensuring compliance with risk and IT governance policies.
* Coordinate business development activities with senior colleagues across Tax & Law, supporting responses to RFPs and pitches.
* Identify the best solution for a given scenario, liaising with external software vendors as appropriate.
* Work with partners and directors to implement the tech strategy and develop a sustainable pipeline of work.
* Embed best practice and a culture of quality, taking responsibility for learning paths of junior colleagues.
* Coach, mentor, and performance manage junior members of the team.
Qualifications and experience
* Experience implementing complex technology solutions for multinational corporations operating globally.
* Experience leading complex, high-profile transformation and technology projects.
* Ability to generate and progress leads to sales for large, global clients and participate in multi-disciplinary proposals.
* Proven experience using Microsoft cloud data tools to deliver solutions (Power BI, Data Factory, Synapse, Fabric, Azure ML, Purview).
* Excellent knowledge of Alteryx or equivalent tools; Alteryx Designer Advanced or Expert certification or equivalent is desirable.
* Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and relationship-building skills; capable of autonomous decision-making.
* Excellent organisational, time management, delegation, and results-driven mindset.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Passionate about using data to drive key business decisions.
Additional preferred experience
* Experience implementing solutions using Azure data platform, including data flows and source system connectors via Azure Data Factory.
* SQL and Python programming skills plus a good understanding of machine learning techniques.
* Experience with data platforms such as Databricks and Snowflake.
* Experience with scripting languages such as JavaScript, R, PowerShell or VBScript.
