Description
As a Floor Manager on ITV News you will ensure the smooth running of studio floor operations, being the link between gallery crew and presenters, safely managing guests and acting as the sound assistant. You are responsible for keeping the studio safe and tidy for those who work there, as well as visitors. You will also operate the Autoscript prompt system for presenters, updating scripts as required. You will occasionally be required to carry out those same functions on remote presentations as part of an Outside Broadcast team. Away from studio operations, you are responsible for music logging for all ITV News national and London regional bulletins and Channel 4 News.
Experience of working on a studio floor is preferred and specific training will be given.
Key Responsibilities
1. To relay directions and instructions from the director in the gallery
2. To oversee the studio floor, ensuring that health and safety rules are observed (such as tidy cables, trip hazards, no drinks etc.), especially briefing studio guests who are unfamiliar with the environment
3. To make sure the needs of special guests such as wheelchair users or guests with guide dogs are appropriately met, whilst following Health & Safety guidelines
4. To move and frame cameras as directed
5. To mic up presenters and guests and liaise with the sound engineer for quality
6. To load, run and update auto script prompting system
7. To provide some music clearing services to producers
8. To log all music used on national bulletins accurately via the Silvermouse system
