CAP / Powered Access Engineer
Location: Tonbridge, T12Salary: up to £50,000Job Type: Full-time, permanent
The Role:
An established and fast-growing business is looking for a CAP-qualified Engineer to join its team in Kent. This role is primarily depot-based, with occasional site attendance where required.
Youll be responsible for ensuring a fleet of MEWPs is safe, compliant, and maintained to the highest standards, playing a key role in statutory inspections and fleet readiness.
Key Responsibilities:
* Carry out CAP / LOLER inspections on powered access equipment
* Service, maintain and repair MEWPs including scissor lifts, boom lifts and access platforms
* Complete pre-delivery inspections (PDIs) and fault diagnostics
* Identify mechanical, electrical and hydraulic issues and carry out repairs
* Ensure all equipment complies with LOLER, PUWER and company safety standards
* Accurately complete inspection reports, service records and job documentation
* Liaise with depot staff and operations to ensure fleet availability
* Maintain a safe, clean and organised workshop environment
Requirements:
* CAP qualification (Competent Assessed Person) essential
* Previous experience working with powered access / MEWPs
* Strong understanding of LOLER and PUWER regulations
* Mechanical, electrical and/or hydraulic engineering experience
* IPAF licences
* Reliable, safety-focused and able to work independently
