Are you interested in applying to become a Special Constable (Volunteer Police Officer)?
Special Constables are volunteers who have the same powers, equipment, uniform, and attend the same calls as regular Police Constables. As a Special Constable you will provide a vital link between the regular force and your local communities, helping to deliver the policing priorities for South Wales. You will be valued, and it will be a rewarding, challenging and enjoyable experience.
Expectations
You will be expected to commit to a minimum of 16 hours of service per month. Your appointment will be subject to a 2‑year probationary period during which you must complete all elements of your training and be certified as an independent patrol officer.
Equal Opportunities
As an equal opportunities employer, we welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons. However, as Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (B.A.M.E) candidates are currently underrepresented within the Force, we would particularly welcome applications from B.A.M.E applicants.
