We are seeking a Clinical Trials Coordinator to work closely with a leading professor and the Lead Clinical Trials Coordinator across both the Clinical Trials and Research Departments. Salary up to £42k, depending on experience.
The role involves organising, initiating, and managing multiple nonindustry-sponsored research projects in areas including:
Age-Related Macular Degeneration (all stages, including gene therapy)
Wide-field OCT and peripheral vitreoretinal imaging
Diabetic Macular Oedema
Inherited Retinal Dystrophies
Visual Aids
Vitreous Floaters and Opacities
You will also assist with data analysis and academic paper preparation for publication.
Our clinic specialises in advancing research in Medical Retina and Vitreoretinal conditions, using state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment technology (Optomap, Microperimetry, 3D OCT, Swept Source OCT, OCT-A, advanced lasers, etc.).
Clinical Trials Coordinator Key Responsibilities:
Ensure all clinical trials meet regulatory and professional standards
Adhere to trial timelines and protocols
Collect and record clinical and imaging data
Provide updates to Principal Investigators
Support setup of new projects and contribute to scientific publications
Handle patient correspondence and scheduling
Prepare lectures and publication materials
Track study payments
Respond promptly to PR-related enquiries and deadlines
Analyse project data and communicate findings
Monitor trial performance and meet project deadlines (occasional out-of-hours work)
Support administrative tasks, patient follow-up, data entry, examinations, scanning, and assistance in the operating room
Clinical Trials Coordinator Requirements:
~2 years of Clinical Trials Coordinator experience (private sector preferred)
Ophthalmology experience desirable but not essential
Ability to manage large databases
Excellent communication skills with patients and staff
Strong organisational and multitasking abilities
