We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Staff Field Applications Engineer (FAE) to support Aerospace & Defense strategic and key accounts in EMEA on RF, High speed converters, MEMS and related topics.
As a Field Applications Engineer, you are the bridge between product development groups and our customers. Your primary goal is winning new business though proactive in-depth design and development support that will solve customer challenges. This requires a profound knowledge of technology and the customer development process. You must be familiar with all the aspects of the product lifecycle, from development to mass production.
In this role you will be responsible for actively driving and managing early engagement, the technology proposal and evaluation stage. You will be the key technical advisor and system advocate working in conjunction with the engineering and account teams for a wide range of power applications. As an FAE you must be able to identify customer platform requirements and work closely with internal Analog Devices Business Units and Systems Engineering. You will take ownership for driving the resolution of all technical issues to ensure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process from concept to design-in and mass production. You must be able to build trust and establish and maintain strong relationships with strategic and key customers as well as ADI internal Business Units. You will need to invest in your product, technology and system level knowledge on an ongoing basis through various training and development opportunities.
Requirements
• Identify customer's needs and sales opportunities to help future growth
• Listen, understand, and convey customer requirements
• Provide design and specification development support to customers and BUs • Respond to functional and technical elements of sourcings
• Assist in the definition, design, and development of new products and tools
• Travel to customer sites alone or together with Account Managers for sales discussions (including technical deep dives) or onsite support
• Resolve customer issues or difficulties in a manner that is aligned with the respective BU’s strategy
• Maintain professional business relationships with customers experts and engineering management
Qualifications and Skills required
• BS/MS in Electrical Engineering
• Work experience >10 years in engineering and/or semiconductors
• Several year’s experience designing RF & High-speed converters
• Profound understanding of electric control systems and analog semiconductor applications
• Excellent understanding of Radar, Communication, Space and Avionic architecture.
• Extensive experience with circuit simulation and fast prototyping
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Team player with a social nature
• Self-motivated and able to work independently
• Curious nature and willingness to challenge the status quo
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills needed to collaborate with global teams
• Proven customer project management skills
• Available for travel 50%
• Driver license required
• Languages: English (min. C1). Other language is a plus.
